Changqing Guo, the second author of this paper, mainly carried out the phase field simulation of the topological domain structure of P (VDF-TrFE) films under different strain states, and revealed that the system energy competition affected by the periodic fluctuation of the film surface is the reason for the formation of the topological structure and the strain regulation result of this topological structure.   • 2019/12, Prof. Sang-Wook Cheong of Rutgers University, a member of the Korean Academy of Sciences, was invited by Xueyun Wang to visit the lab and give a lecture in the "Hundred Lectures" in the university. During the 10-day visit, Prof. Cheong discussed with the group about the research progress, and had an in-depth communication with the leaders of the School of Aerospace Engineering, and discussed the potential collaboration between BIT and Rutgers. At the same time, Prof. Cheong had an academic discussion with professors from the Department of Physics and the Department of Materials.

  • 2018/01, The atomic force microscopy testing platform purchased by the research group was installed and debug-ed, and the tensile/bending loading device was integrated, which added a sharp tool for the research of micro/nano mechanics and ferromaterial domain engineering. During the installation and commissioning, Caterina, a Cambridge university student, came to visit the research group for a short time, and she became one of the earliest external users of the shared platform!

  • 2017/01, On the occasion of the Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve, Dr. Hong's collaborated work on anomalous thermal conductivity in VO2 was published in the journal Science! In this work, the relationship between the electronic thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity of vanadium dioxide in the metallic phase was found to deviate significantly from the Widmann-Franz law, providing a new way to deeply study and understand the thermal transport behavior in novel materials. This work was done in collaboration with the groups of Prof. Junqiao Wu at UC Berkeley and Prof. Olivier Delaire at Duke University. [Link]
